One of the famous mobile app advertising services out there for those who want to monetize their free apps is Admob. We’ll see in this article how to create an AdMob account.

In order to sign up for an AdMob account, you will need the following:

  1. AdSense Account. You will need one AdSense account but if you don’t have one, you will be guided through the process of creating an account. If you want to change accounts later on, you should first cancel your present account.
  2. AdWords Account. One AdWords account is also needed. Once your AdWords and AdSense accounts are connected to AdMob, you aren’t allowed to change these accounts and there are limitations to the details that you can edit like your billing currency, payment address and time zone.

First, you need to select/create the Google account you are going to use.

  1. Go to apps.admob.com and sign in using your Google account that is connected with your active AdSense account. But if you don’t have both, select the Creat an account link and you would be guided through to the process of creating a Google account. After you finished the sign up process, return to apps.admob.com and sign in using your new Google account.
  2. Select the Sign up for AdMob Here you can review information about your AdSense and AdWords accounts (if they are connected to your Google account). You can choose to use this Google account (select Yes use) or to go back to select/create another account (select Use a different or new Google account).

Review or complete existing and new AdSense and AdWords accounts.

AdSense account:

– Review existing account information

  1. Select Yes, use this Adsense/AdWords account button if you want to use the Adsense account connected to your Google account.
  2. If you don’t want to use this account, select Cancel and either:
  3. Sign in using the Google account connected to the other AdSense/AdWords account you’d like to use with AdMob.
  4. Remove yourself as a user of the AdSense account and create a new one when return to AdMob’s sign up page or add yourself as user to the other Adsense account that you’d like to use.
  5. If you no longer want to use this account, cancel and close it. This is commonly used as a last resort for inactive accounts. In AdWords you only need to close the account.

– Setting up a new accounts:

  1. Fill in the fields requested. Take note that your AdSense account would be used primarily for AdMob so its functionality would be limited. In AdWords, there are only two fields, time zone and billing currency which can’t be also changed after signing up.
  2. Review each field carefully. Depending on your location, you may not be able to change these details later on.
  3. Click

The last steps are to read and agree to the program policies and terms and conditions. Then select Create AdMob Account and you’re done.
